An unexpectedly hard shot by Yves Rivoire in the 4th minute of play forced Rossas FC's goalkeeper Basílio Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Micael Braga in the 7th minute of play forced Gosto de Buracos's goalkeeper Andreas Lindgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andreas Lindgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidónio Vaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Ricardo Gueifão ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Basílio Quadros was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After some careless play in the Gosto de Buracos defense, Micael Braga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andreas Lindgren. The Gosto de Buracos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andreas Lindgren should have stopped the shot. João Ponte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andreas Lindgren having to interfere. 35 minutes into the game, Sidónio Vaz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rossas FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gosto de Buracos the free kick. Sidónio Vaz kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Xavier Guarda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Basílio Quadros having to make a save. After 47 played minutes Rossas FC got a freekick which was hit by Altino Assunção. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Ponte to make the kick off. The supporters of Gosto de Buracos booed when Rossas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Micael Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute Ricardo Gueifão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basílio Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xavier Guarda in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basílio Quadros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 67 minutes into the match, Gosto de Buracos's goal looked a bit too open when João Ponte came free, but Andreas Lindgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute Micael Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Lindgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Moura's late challenge caught a Rossas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miguel Moura helped the player get up and apologised. Yves Rivoire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Quadros having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Rossas FC's zone, Ricardo Gueifão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basílio Quadros came out of the goal and Ricardo Gueifão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
