The Arnado FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Oliveira should have stopped the shot. Moisés Castanheira kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, SC Contriz's Filinto Quaresma sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Oliveira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gonçalo Aleixo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Carneiro having to interfere. When Gonçalo Aleixo came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Arnado FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gonçalo Aleixo couldn't finish the play. After having played for 42 minutes, Gonçalo Aleixo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arnado FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gonçalo Aleixo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Oliveira came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Contriz's Tomás Peseiro. But to his dismay, Tomás Peseiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gonçalo Aleixo was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Pinhal in the 53rd minute of play forced Arnado FC's goalkeeper João Oliveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristiano Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arnado FC's Cristiano Simões got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Tomás Peseiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gabriel Carneiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Cristiano Simões came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Arnado FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristiano Simões couldn't finish the play. Cristiano Simões blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gabriel Carneiro having to make a save. Arnado FC's André Trindade suffered a concussion in the 87th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Moisés Castanheira fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Contriz's protests and gave Moisés Castanheira a yellow card for diving instead. Moisés Castanheira kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Cristiano Simões struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Gabriel Carneiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arnado FC. Cristiano Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gabriel Carneiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristiano Simões, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
