In the 7th minute, Oliveira Baptista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Palmiro Carrasqueira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jaime Viana. That made the score 1-0 in the 48 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Palmiro Carrasqueira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Morpheus FC's Oliveira Baptista ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Wilson Osório. After 64 played minutes, Dragoes Azuis's Cândido Carvalhais shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jaime Viana came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dragoes Azuis reached it. Dragoes Azuis's Wilson Osório played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliveira Baptista in the 69th minute of play. In the 75th match minute, Morpheus FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredinho Batista to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oliveira Baptista in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilson Osório saved Dragoes Azuis from getting behind. Oliveira Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86thth minute of the game Oliveira Baptista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dragoes Azuis's Wilson Osório was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Dragoes Azuis getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Hélder Guarda hit a great ball. Alexandrino Fagundes kicked well hit freekick during the 99th minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Morpheus FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
