The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd play minute Hildeberto Carvalhal came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Filipe Cunha. 1-0. 9 minutes into the game, Alberto Machado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Marco Lemos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in S. Domingos FC's zone, Viriato Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Lemos came out of the goal and Viriato Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 16 minutes into the game, Manuel Cardoso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Bolelo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S. Domingos FC the free kick. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Bolelo! 2-1 came through a penalty shot after 18 played minutes, when S. Domingos FC:s Alexandre Linhares calmly waited for SC Bolelo:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. 20 minutes into the match, S. Domingos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Machado came free, but Marco Lemos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute of the match Amado Sequeira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Filipe Cunha showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 26 minutes into the game, when Amado Sequeira put in a rough tackle. In the 26th minute, one of S. Domingos FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for S. Domingos FC. Vítor Faro shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Marco Lemos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Machado in the 31st minute of the match. Alberto Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 37th match minute, SC Bolelo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vítor Faro to maneuver through the defense. 38 minutes into the match, S. Domingos FC's Alexandre Linhares broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 41 minutes into the match, SC Bolelo's goalkeeper Filipe Cunha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hildeberto Carvalhal. In the 41st match minute, SC Bolelo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Leal to maneuver through the defense.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alberto Machado to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Viriato Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Bolelo's supporters rose to their feet, but Viriato Abreu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Lemos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind S. Domingos FC's goalkeeper Marco Lemos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alberto Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Lemos having to interfere. S. Domingos FC's Marco Lemos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Machado in the 63rd minute of play. Tiago Jesus could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Marco Lemos made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hildeberto Carvalhal in the 69th minute of play forced SC Bolelo's goalkeeper Filipe Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Caetano Rijo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S. Domingos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Bolelo the free kick. After a rather tough play, S. Domingos FC's Caetano Rijo got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute, Viriato Abreu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marco Lemos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. In the 80th minute, Emanuel Leal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Viriato Abreu might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marco Lemos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Viriato Abreu ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to S. Domingos FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Caetano Rijo hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Bessa got free with Marco Lemos in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the SC Bolelo players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
