Heitor Amaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Filipe Delgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Cunha in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Filipe Delgado saved SC Ferrugende from getting behind. In the 12th minute Humberto Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filipe Delgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Manuel Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Ferrugende's Filipe Delgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Cunha in the 22nd minute of play. Cristiano Soares made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Mário Vilalobos sent off a good shot on target. Cristiano Soares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvestre Vieira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filipe Delgado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ricardo Amaro went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Marco Távora managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Ferrugende's supporters rose to their feet, but Marco Távora was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristiano Soares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 37 minutes, Mário Colaço managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Ferrugende's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mário Colaço was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38th minute, Humberto Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Humberto Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Filipe Delgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Cunha in the 44th minute of the match. Cristiano Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Higino Fraga in the 45th minute of play. With 46 minutes on the clock, Cláudio Jesus commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 49 minutes in the game Silvestre Vieira after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Cristiano Soares. A very good opportunity. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Manuel Cunha made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silvestre Vieira in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristiano Soares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 64 minutes AC Cortegaça's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luís Castilho who took care of the corner kick. Luís Castilho made a great header on SC Ferrugende's corner, it was just that AC Cortegaça's Cristiano Soares managed to reach the ball for a save. A hard shot 70 in the game by Manuel Cunha from a close distance when the talented Filipe Delgado managed to make a qualified save. SC Ferrugende's players were relieved. Heitor Amaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Delgado having to interfere. In the 76th match minute, AC Cortegaça was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Brito to maneuver through the defense.
