The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Humberto Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Costa having to interfere. After 9 minutes of play, Vieiro's Humberto Teles made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gabriel Costa was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 12th minute, André Corte-Real got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Humberto Teles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Gabriel Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amadeu Assis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tarcísio Viegas having to interfere. Amadeu Assis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 32 minutes into the match, Vale de espinho's goal looked a bit too open when André Corte-Real came free, but Gabriel Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute of the match, Humberto Teles got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gabriel Costa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Humberto Teles got free with Gabriel Costa in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when André Corte-Real made the kick off in the second half. Gabriel Costa came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Vieiro's André Corte-Real. But to his dismay, André Corte-Real quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When Vieiro's André Corte-Real in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vale de espinho's goalie prevented a goal. If André Corte-Real had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. Gabriel Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulo Faria was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 71 minutes into the match. After 71 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vale de espinho! Gabriel Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Teles, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Humberto Teles during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 80 played minutes Vieiro got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Teles. Graciano Nóbrega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Henrique Pinheiro hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. André Corte-Real recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 88thth minute of the game André Corte-Real who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vale de espinho's Gabriel Costa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gabriel Costa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Vale de espinho's zone, André Corte-Real stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Costa came out of the goal and André Corte-Real tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. André Corte-Real sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vieiro fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vale de espinho had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
