Maurício Corte-Real sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filipe Ventura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Morais, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 23 minutes into the game, Maurício Corte-Real cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Adolfo Leite was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 37 minutes into the match, Luzianes's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Gouveia came free, but Adolfo Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albertino Monteiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Ventura having to interfere. After 42 minutes of play, SC Quimbres's Carlos Gouveia made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adolfo Leite was left in no man's land by his defense there! Adolfo Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurício Corte-Real in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when António Morais stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 69 played minutes Luzianes got a freekick which was hit by Américo Amorim. Maurício Corte-Real took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adolfo Leite. Adolfo Leite dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Albertino Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the match, SC Quimbres's Carlos Gouveia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adolfo Leite narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Maurício Corte-Real came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the SC Quimbres fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maurício Corte-Real couldn't finish the play. In the 83rd minute, Carlos Gouveia fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Albertino Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Filipe Ventura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, Luzianes's goal looked a bit too open when Maurício Corte-Real came free, but Adolfo Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 94 minutes into the game, Manuel Figueiredo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Luzianes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Quimbres the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Luzianes fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! Dimas Lustosa placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! António Morais blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Filipe Ventura having to make a save. The SC Quimbres players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
