In the 36th minute, Luís Freitas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pedro Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolfo Neto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. António Cerqueira hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute Adolfo Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Martins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Luís Freitas came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Seroa FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Freitas couldn't finish the play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mário Vilaça to make the kick off. After 51 minutes, Antero Vilas Boas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gomariz FC and the Seroa FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Freitas in the 57th minute of play forced Gomariz FC's goalkeeper Pedro Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rúben Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Gomariz FC's Pedro Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Neto in the 69th minute of play.
