The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Diaz Parcero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Oğuz Dicle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. F.C.Penafiel's Manuel Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julião Espinosa in the 14th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, F.C.Penafiel's goal looked a bit too open when Claudemiro Assunção came free, but Manuel Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Alexandre Coimbra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C.Penafiel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mansores the free kick. 18 minutes into the game, one of F.C.Penafiel:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Armando Teves shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. F.C.Penafiel's Oğuz Dicle got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, Oğuz Dicle notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Mansores's António Borges. António Borges was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Mansores's zone, Oğuz Dicle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. António Borges came out of the goal and Oğuz Dicle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Diaz Parcero took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for António Borges to make any attempt to save it. 48 minutes into the game, Claudemiro Assunção was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mansores's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C.Penafiel the free kick. Claudemiro Assunção hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diaz Parcero to make the kick off. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mansores's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alexandre Trindade was slow to take the kick. During this time F.C.Penafiel's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julião Espinosa in the 69th minute of play forced F.C.Penafiel's goalkeeper Manuel Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. António Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oğuz Dicle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute Diaz Parcero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diaz Parcero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Oğuz Dicle sped through Mansores's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of António Borges. Diaz Parcero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 94 played minutes Mansores got a freekick which was hit by Torcato Torres. When the referee ended the match the F.C.Penafiel players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
