Germano Lobato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aldo Tavares having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruno Candeias in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg António Abrantes saved Cova da Piedadade FC from getting behind. António Abrantes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gervásio Carneiro in the 33rd minute of play. António Abrantes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Candeias, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute, Gervásio Carneiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Coelhal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Vivaldo Pedroso kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Duarte Regueira made the kick off in the second half. If Bruno Candeias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duarte Regueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Aldo Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cova da Piedadade FC's António Abrantes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gervásio Carneiro in the 61st minute of play. Bruno Candeias struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. António Abrantes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Coelhal. SC Coelhal's Aldo Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duarte Regueira in the 68th minute of play. A collision led to Cova da Piedadade FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Duarte Regueira hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gervásio Carneiro in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg António Abrantes saved Cova da Piedadade FC from getting behind. 73 minutes into the game, one of Cova da Piedadade FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When Vivaldo Pedroso fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Coelhal's protests and gave Vivaldo Pedroso a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, SC Coelhal's Vivaldo Pedroso got a free kick in the 96th minute. In the 99th minute of the match Cova da Piedadade FC got a corner. SC Coelhal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cristóvão Fagundes ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Cristóvão Fagundes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SC Coelhal's Aldo Tavares did a great save. The Cova da Piedadade FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SC Coelhal were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
