Spectators: 6655 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1655, VIP seats: 0) Fernando Trindade made the kick off and thus started the match. Jaime Leãos short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Severiano Salgueiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustavo Cunha got free with Severiano Salgueiro in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 21st minute Fernando Trindade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severiano Salgueiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaime Leão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vítor Domingues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimiro Ávila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Trindade in the 27th minute of play forced FC Madeira's goalkeeper Severiano Salgueiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 33 played minutes Ajuda got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Trindade. The crowd rose to their feet as Ajuda's Gustavo Cunha slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Severiano Salgueiro. That made the score 3-0 after 36 minutes of play. A collision led to Ajuda getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Diamantino Brito hit a great ball. FC Madeira's Vladimiro Ávila got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vladimiro Ávila to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Guilherme Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Vladimiro Ávila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vladimiro Ávila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Vítor Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, FC Madeira's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Leão came free, but Severiano Salgueiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vítor Domingues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Madeira. The Ajuda support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
