After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Antônio Arósio managed to get in a good position for a shot. S. L. Benfica's supporters rose to their feet, but Antônio Arósio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tobias Barata breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Nuno Viegas managed to get in a good position for a shot. S. L. Nuno Viegas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Tobias Barata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Nuno Viegas fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Tobias Barata, passed just outside the right post. After 70 minutes of play, S. L. Benfica's Antônio Arósio made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tobias Barata was left in no man's land by his defense there! Frederico Júdice kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Nuno Viegas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tobias Barata. That made the score 1-4 in the 77 minute of play. Tobias Barata was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. David Silva who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Tobias Barata when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
