Rui Moutinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Osvaldo Marques's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. 34 minutes into the match, SC Formariz's Nuno Delgado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roberto Trindade narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 36 played minutes SC Pesqueira got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo Godinho. Osvaldo Marques scored 0-2 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rui Moutinho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Rodrigo Godinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Rui Moutinho made a huge save. Roberto Trindade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Delgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 60 played minutes SC Formariz got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Silva. SC Formariz's Rui Moutinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo Ramos in the 63rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osvaldo Marques got free with Rui Moutinho in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Reinaldo Ramos in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rui Moutinho, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, SC Formariz's Eusébio Silva got a free kick in the 70th minute. 73 minutes into the match, SC Formariz's goalkeeper Rui Moutinho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Osvaldo Marques. Sebastião Borges hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Osvaldo Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Moutinho having to interfere.
