A wasted opportunity for Atalaia FC. Julião Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Santos having to interfere. A collision led to Atalaia FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Jorge Pacheco hit a great ball. After having played for 38 minutes, Alexandre Lencastre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dinamo Zagreb's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Lencastre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Virgílio Porto fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dinamo Zagreb's protests and gave Virgílio Porto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rd minute, Virgílio Porto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Vieira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Atalaia FC's Pedro Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Atalaia FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Lencastre in the 53rd minute of play forced Atalaia FC's goalkeeper Pedro Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Santos stood somewhat misplaced when Julião Mendes came free in front of goal and shot 0-2 to the left of him in the 72 minute. In the 76thth minute of the game Américo Leiria who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dinamo Zagreb's Osvaldo Vidal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Julião Mendes got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 0-3 in the right cross in the 79th match minute before Pedro Santos had time to react. Julião Mendes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Pedro Santos made a huge save. If João Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Pedro Santos managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when Dinamo Zagreb's Alcino Souto fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the final whistle sounded Dinamo Zagreb left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Atalaia FC.
