The audience thought a goal was coming when Henrique Sousa got free with Aquilino Velasques in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 12th minute, Henrique Sousa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Ponta pé pra frente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Aquilino Velasques stood somewhat misplaced when Álvaro Santarém came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 16 minute. 20 minutes into the match, FC Ponta pé pra frente's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Vilhena came free, but João Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Aquilino Velasques managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when FC Ponta pé pra frente's Henrique Sousa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 29th minute, Álvaro Santarém got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 30th minute, Álvaro Santarém ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aquilino Velasques was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. FC Ponta pé pra frente's Henrique Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aquilino Velasques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álvaro Santarém in the 35th minute of play. Raimundo Albuquerque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cláudio Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After 44 minutes of play, Tarrio's Carlos Vilhena made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. João Mendes was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Vilhena to make the kick off. Aquilino Velasques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrique Sousa in the 60th minute of the match. When Henrique Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the FC Ponta pé pra frente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henrique Sousa couldn't finish the play. In the 64th minute Hélder Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquilino Velasques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Tarrio's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Sousa came free, but Aquilino Velasques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th match minute, Tarrio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Pessoa to maneuver through the defense. After 72 played minutes Tarrio got a freekick which was hit by Rui Soeiro. Aquilino Velasques stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henrique Sousa's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Henrique Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquilino Velasques having to interfere. The supporters of FC Ponta pé pra frente booed when Tarrio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martinho Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martinho Lopes charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Martinho Lopes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 94th match minute, Tarrio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martinho Lopes to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Tarrio's Carlos Vilhena slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of João Mendes. That made the score 3-2 after 96 minutes of play. There was no doubt that FC Ponta pé pra frente were the better team. FC Ponta pé pra frente's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
