The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Viriato Nóbrega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Quintanilha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Hermano Falcão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Xavelhas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermano Falcão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Igor Barroso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 46th minute, Márcio Viveiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Plácido Luz made a kick off. With a little luck, Xavelhas FC's Viriato Nóbrega got control of the ball when Vasco Pires tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 57th minute Hermano Falcão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Barroso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to SC Landedo getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Diego Brandão hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Xavelhas FC's Virgílio Barros tried to score from far away in the 59th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Viriato Nóbrega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Quintanilha, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Igor Barroso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Plácido Luz in the 75th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, SC Landedo's goal looked a bit too open when Hermano Falcão came free, but Igor Barroso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
