After 18 minutes, Ramiro Balsemão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carraptinha II and the Soutinho players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ramiro Balsemão hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Carraptinha II's Rui Pinheiro got a free kick in the 20th minute. Carlos Noronha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Salvador Abrantes made a huge save. In the 29th minute Albertino Boaventura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Vilar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Salvador Abrantes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carlos Noronha went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Jacinto Coelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Salvador Abrantes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th match minute, Soutinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacinto Coelho to maneuver through the defense. Salvador Abrantes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jacinto Coelho went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Soutinho's zone, Miguel Tinoco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio Vilar came out of the goal and Miguel Tinoco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pascoal Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Leandro Cruz charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leandro Cruz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 78th minute, Leandro Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 82 minutes, Artur Fagundes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Soutinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artur Fagundes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Carlos Noronha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Soutinho's Cláudio Vilar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Pinheiro in the 87th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Soutinho had won after a very even match.
