He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sporting Leões do Mar reached it. Sálvio Damásio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Carneiro in the 31st minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, SC Vimeira's goalkeeper Almiro Vasques had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adelino Ruas. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Adelino Vigário fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Almiro Vasques having to interfere. In the 69th minute Adelino Ruas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Almiro Vasques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the game, Lucas Peixoto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Vimeira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Leões do Mar the free kick. After 74 played minutes SC Vimeira got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Peixoto. Almiro Vasques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adelino Ruas in the 77th minute of play. Silvestre Quirino kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. SC Vimeira's Almiro Vasques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Ruas in the 81st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sporting Leões do Mar's Adelino Vigário got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Adelino Ruas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute of the match, Lucas Peixoto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sálvio Damásio saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SC Vimeira had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
