In the 24th minute Telmo Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Ponte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Alcides Meireles dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Patrício Carvalhais, 1-0. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Patrício Carvalhais successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 38 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Cetos! Jerónimo Calado shot the penalty kick right outside the post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alcides Meireles was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Rodolfo Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Ponte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gabriel Belém's late challenge caught a SC Cetos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
