Diamantino Póvoas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diamantino Póvoas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emílio Maia in the 16th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the match, Custódio Quina dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Diamantino Póvoas, 3-0. In the 29th minute of the game Adelino Fernandes made a throw-in which Hélder Nogueira played forward. Emílio Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Diamantino Póvoas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marco Maia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Emílio Maia made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Almeirim FC's goal looked a bit too open when Custódio Quina came free, but Diamantino Póvoas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Almeirim FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. David Saraiva hit a great ball. If Emílio Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emílio Maia in the 60th minute of play forced Almeirim FC's goalkeeper Diamantino Póvoas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute, Ramón Leal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 68 minutes into the game, Emílio Maia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Diamantino Póvoas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Marco Maia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diamantino Póvoas was relentless in the 71st minute of the game.
