Spectators: 7310 (Terracing: 5484, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 145) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Marco Padilha started the match with the kick off. When Fernando Gaspar came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the ACADEMIA SPORTING fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Gaspar couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Gaspar in the 9th minute of play forced Gontilhe's goalkeeper Cristóvão Vilas Boas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as ACADEMIA SPORTING's Cláudio Sá slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cristóvão Vilas Boas. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gontilhe's goalkeeper Cristóvão Vilas Boas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gontilhe's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fernando Gaspar was slow to take the kick. During this time ACADEMIA SPORTING's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, Gontilhe's Eusébio Gois got a free kick in the 19th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Zin el Din Zidane notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Gontilhe's Cristóvão Vilas Boas. Cristóvão Vilas Boas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Filipe Malheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Jaime Nunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cláudio Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristóvão Vilas Boas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristóvão Vilas Boas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Cláudio Sá did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-0 to the left of a surprised Cristóvão Vilas Boas 45 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernando Gaspar to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zin el Din Zidane in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristóvão Vilas Boas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Zin el Din Zidane managed to get in a good position for a shot. ACADEMIA SPORTING's supporters rose to their feet, but Zin el Din Zidane was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristóvão Vilas Boas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zin el Din Zidane might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristóvão Vilas Boas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zin el Din Zidane ran back to his position shaking his head. Zin el Din Zidane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Cristóvão Vilas Boas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Gontilhe's zone, Zin el Din Zidane stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristóvão Vilas Boas came out of the goal and Zin el Din Zidane tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 73 played minutes Gontilhe got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Gois. In the 74th minute, Fernando Gaspar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 76 minutes of play, ACADEMIA SPORTING's Fernando Gaspar made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cristóvão Vilas Boas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gontilhe's Cristóvão Vilas Boas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zin el Din Zidane in the 79th minute of play. If Fernando Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zin el Din Zidane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristóvão Vilas Boas having to interfere. In the 84th match minute, ACADEMIA SPORTING was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bento Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. If Manolis Xirafis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sungurhan Tapgaç made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Alfredo Gago sent off a good shot on target. ACADEMIA SPORTING walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
