Porfírio Severo hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abílio Martins made a kick off. Américo Dantas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Filipe Seixas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Hermenegildo Godinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Bernardo Bessa made a huge save. Bernardo Bessa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abílio Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 97th minute, SC Alvarenga's Hermenegildo Godinho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bernardo Bessa. Bernardo Bessa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2.
