The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rui Araújo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 7 minutes into the match. Daniel Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alexandre Henriques made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Guilheta's Armando Reis got a free kick in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Faria in the 55th minute of play forced Lordello's goalkeeper Basílio Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Basílio Amaral was a little too slow when Alexandre Henriques got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 2-3. After 60 minutes, André Leite made it 3-3 with a short kick to the right side. Guilheta's Bernardo Neto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Afonso Guarda scored 3-4 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Basílio Amaral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
