Vítor Trindade's late challenge caught a Lomba FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vítor Trindade helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th minute, Vítor Trindade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Catarino Severo kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. When SC Gilde's Delfim Lisboa in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lomba FC's goalie prevented a goal. SC Gilde's Manuel Mendes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save SC Gilde from getting a goal against them. Nicolas Ferro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastião Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sebastião Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd match minute, Lomba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Ramires to maneuver through the defense. Delfim Lisboa took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nicolas Ferro. Nicolas Ferro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Octávio Valentim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastião Fonseca in the 35th minute of play forced Lomba FC's goalkeeper Nicolas Ferro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Pedroso hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Octávio Valentim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manuel Mendes having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Trindade in the 45th minute of play forced Lomba FC's goalkeeper Nicolas Ferro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sebastião Fonseca made a kick off. Octávio Valentim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Manuel Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Octávio Valentim in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manuel Mendes saved SC Gilde from getting behind. After 61 minutes of play, Lomba FC's Bento Ferreira made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manuel Mendes was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 69 played minutes SC Gilde got a freekick which was hit by António Torres. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Sebastião Fonseca took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Nicolas Ferro to make any attempt to save it. The audience was convinced that Octávio Valentim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manuel Mendes was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. 83 minutes into the match, Lomba FC's goalkeeper Nicolas Ferro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Delfim Lisboa. After 84 played minutes Lomba FC got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Faria. In the 85th minute of the match Bento Sá sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nicolas Ferro skillfully saved the ball. Lomba FC's Nicolas Ferro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by António Torres in the 87th minute of play. Catarino Severo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Manuel Mendes. SC Gilde's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The SC Gilde supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Gilde would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
