When Octávio Valentim came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Lomba FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Octávio Valentim couldn't finish the play. Octávio Valentims short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Abel Santana to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Abel Santana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bento Ferreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Lomba FC's Nicolas Ferro got control of the ball when Gusmão Taborda tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Bento Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ferrol's zone, Bento Ferreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abel Santana came out of the goal and Bento Ferreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 81 minutes, Octávio Valentim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lomba FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Octávio Valentim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The nice shot from Rodolfo Setúbal in the 83rdth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Nicolas Ferro had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Octávio Valentim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicolas Ferro made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Rodolfo Setúbal sent off a good shot on target. The Lomba FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Ferrol to win.
