Rui Aleixo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Afonso Machado firmly grabbed it by the left post. Sérgio Paredes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Afonso Machado made a huge save. Joaquim Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rui Aleixo in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Afonso Machado saved ZCALABITANOZ from getting behind. A collision led to ZCALABITANOZ getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Álvaro Tavares hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Rui Aleixo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Afonso Machado was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Rui Aleixo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 17 minutes into the match, ZCALABITANOZ's goalkeeper Afonso Machado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sérgio Paredes. Sérgio Paredes scored 1-0 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Afonso Machado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Álvaro Porto in the 24th minute of play forced SC Donai's goalkeeper António Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 31 minutes of play, ZCALABITANOZ's João Reis made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. António Veiga was left in no man's land by his defense there! António Veiga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Reis's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. João Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Veiga having to interfere. João Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. António Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Reis to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes SC Donai got a freekick which was hit by Rui Aleixo. In the 52nd minute, Álvaro Porto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Castro in the 54th minute of play forced ZCALABITANOZ's goalkeeper Afonso Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of SC Donai booed when ZCALABITANOZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Óscar Borba didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. António Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jaime Castro fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Donai's protests and gave Jaime Castro a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SC Donai getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Jaime Castro hit a great ball. António Veiga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Álvaro Porto in the 65th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, João Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot. ZCALABITANOZ's supporters rose to their feet, but João Reis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. António Veiga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 69 minutes into the match, SC Donai's goal looked a bit too open when João Reis came free, but António Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 70 played minutes ZCALABITANOZ got a freekick which was hit by António Viegas. Nuno Moniz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 79th minute Rui Aleixo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sérgio Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Afonso Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandre Ribeiro got free with António Veiga in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Álvaro Porto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but António Veiga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. In the 93rd minute Alexandre Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ZCALABITANOZ's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
