Teofil Lamczyk hit a great ball. 9 minutes into the match, Spartans Lodz's Borys Lepper sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tommy Kahn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 18th minute, Adrian Dreifuss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st match minute, Spartans Lodz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Witold Pryputnicki to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Borys Lepper got free with Tommy Kahn in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Adrian Dreifuss was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 27 minutes had been played. After 27 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Dreifuss. In the 28th minute of the match Ryszard Obuchowicz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tommy Kahn skillfully saved the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Borys Lepper in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. In the 32ndth minute of the game Borys Lepper who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Germany's Tommy Kahn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tommy Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Borys Lepper's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Borys Lepper came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Borys Lepper managed to get in a good position for a shot. Spartans Lodz's supporters rose to their feet, but Borys Lepper was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Kahn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 42 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Witold Pryputnicki came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albin Holweck to make the kick off. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Borys Lepper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 54 minutes into the game, Malte Schiele was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Germany's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Spartans Lodz the free kick. After a rather tough play, Germany's Malte Schiele got a free kick in the 54th minute. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Borys Lepper in the 57th minute of play. In the 58th match minute, Spartans Lodz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tolek Maziarski to maneuver through the defense. Spartans Lodz's Herbert Gozdowski was substituted for Ryszard Obuchowicz. After 59 played minutes Spartans Lodz got a freekick which was hit by Tolek Maziarski. In the 64th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Mergenthaler to maneuver through the defense. Borys Lepper might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Borys Lepper ran back to his position shaking his head. Spartans Lodz's Karol Karp was substituted for Tolek Maziarski. If Iwan Ostrowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Borys Lepper in the 72nd minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Spartans Lodz's Borys Lepper got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 83rd match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Mergenthaler to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute Marcin Marchewka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Spartans Lodz's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
