With his leg Júlio Sampaio managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Inter Porto's Ivo Júdice fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Pilar FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Rui Horta hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Ivo Júdice could shoot a difficult shot in the 30th minute, which Júlio Sampaio however easily saved by the left post. With an all-out effort, Inter Porto's Júlio Sampaio threw himself towards the right post 34 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Frederico Marques, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 36thth minute of the game Rui Horta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Inter Porto's Hipólito Montenegro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Frederico Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júlio Sampaio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Pilar FC's goalkeeper Júlio Sampaio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 84 minutes into the match, Inter Porto's Ivo Júdice sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Júlio Sampaio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rui Horta hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After 87 minutes of play, Inter Porto's Frederico Marques made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. With a left leg Júlio Sampaio saved Pilar FC from getting behind. After 94 played minutes Pilar FC got a freekick which was hit by Albérico Jordão. 95 minutes into the match, Pilar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ivo Júdice came free, but Júlio Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Inter Porto fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pilar FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
