Paulo Ruas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacob Regalado in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th match minute, Dragons in Paradise was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vítor Marques to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Cartaxo booed when Dragons in Paradise was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Marques didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Nuno Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dragons in Paradise's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Medeiros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jacob Regalado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 27 minutes, Flávio Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cartaxo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flávio Guimarães was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dragons in Paradise's defense didn't have a chance, in the 30th minute, when Antero Leite scored to the left of an out of position Paulo Ruas, making the score, 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Francisco Vilaça kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulo Ruas. That made the score 3-0 in the 33 minute of play. In the 37th minute, Vítor Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flávio Guimarães scored 4-0 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo Ruas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice moves Flávio Guimarães could shoot a difficult shot in the 41st minute, which Paulo Ruas however easily saved by the left post. When Flávio Guimarães came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Cartaxo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flávio Guimarães couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Dragons in Paradise's Filinto Lustosa got a free kick in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nuno Medeiros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flávio Guimarães in the 55th minute of play forced Dragons in Paradise's goalkeeper Paulo Ruas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Francisco Vilaça charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Francisco Vilaça the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 96th match minute, Cartaxo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Vilaça to maneuver through the defense. Cartaxo walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
