Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Carlos Salgueiro started the match with the kick off. With his leg Lúcio Balsemão managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when SC Mouguelas's Isidoro Caldas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisco Vilaça during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Francisco Vilaça kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 10 minutes, Lúcio Balsemão successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 15th minute Jacob Regalado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Éder Matos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moisés Peralta hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. When Jacob Regalado came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Cartaxo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacob Regalado couldn't finish the play. In the 19thth minute of the game Flávio Guimarães who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Mouguelas's Éder Matos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Flávio Guimarães's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Éder Matos was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Éder Matos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacob Regalado's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. 27 minutes into the game, Cartaxo's Flávio Guimarães nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Éder Matos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Jacob Regalado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 32 minutes, Flávio Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cartaxo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flávio Guimarães was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SC Mouguelas's Carlos Salgueiro got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, SC Mouguelas's Lúcio Balsemão threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Carlos Salgueiro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Éder Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacob Regalado in the 39th minute of the match. Lúcio Balsemão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Salgueiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Isidoro Caldas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Balsemão having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Isidoro Caldas managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Mouguelas's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidoro Caldas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lúcio Balsemão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Flávio Guimarães might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Éder Matos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Flávio Guimarães ran back to his position shaking his head. Jacob Regalado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Éder Matos having to interfere. Carlos Salgueiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Lúcio Balsemão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Jacob Regalado dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Éder Matos, 0-3. SC Mouguelas's Éder Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacob Regalado in the 65th minute of play. Jacob Regalado scored 0-4 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Éder Matos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 70th match minute, SC Mouguelas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Torcato Aragão to maneuver through the defense. After 74 played minutes Cartaxo got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Lameirinhas. 77 minutes into the match, SC Mouguelas's goal looked a bit too open when Flávio Guimarães came free, but Éder Matos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th match minute, SC Mouguelas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Moisés Peralta to maneuver through the defense. Éder Matos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacob Regalado in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Torcato Aragão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Éder Matos made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Flávio Guimarães sent off a good shot on target. In the 88th minute Carlos Salgueiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Balsemão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cartaxo played a much better game than SC Mouguelas and deserved their victory. The SC Mouguelas players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
