The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ukko Määttänen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filinto Paixão having to interfere. After some careless play in the SC Valenciano defense, Rubim Ponte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Filinto Paixão. The SC Valenciano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filinto Paixão should have stopped the shot. Rubim Ponte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filinto Paixão having to interfere. SC Valenciano's Filinto Paixão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubim Ponte in the 29th minute of play. Filinto Paixão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubim Ponte in the 32nd minute of the match. Rubim Ponte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Filinto Paixão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Lúcio Alcântara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GD Ribeirão fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubim Ponte in the 48th minute of play forced SC Valenciano's goalkeeper Filinto Paixão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The SC Valenciano players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. GD Ribeirão were winning 0-6.

The wind increased when Alexandre Candeias made the kick off in the second half. If Lúcio Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliseu Mafra charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Rubim Ponte's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, Filinto Paixão skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rubim Ponte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filinto Paixão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rubim Ponte in the 82nd minute. Filinto Paixão was a little too slow when Ukko Määttänen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 0-9. GD Ribeirão's Darwin Good was substituted for Ukko Määttänen. GD Ribeirão played a much better game than SC Valenciano and deserved their victory. The SC Valenciano players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
