Sandrinho Lackey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Plácido Corte-Real tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Plácido Corte-Real made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Idalécio Cabral in the 33rd minute of play. 34 minutes into the game, Sandrinho Lackey cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Plácido Corte-Real was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vicente Granja received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Vítor Baia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silvano Quintela kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Donato Ribas made the kick off in the second half. Vítor Baia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Ribas in the 57th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in €uros's zone, Idalécio Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Plácido Corte-Real came out of the goal and Idalécio Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vítor Baia made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Vicente Granja sent off a good shot on target. Plácido Corte-Real made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandrinho Lackey in the 67th minute of play. If Sandrinho Lackey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute of the match Danilo Flores shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Plácido Corte-Real showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Idalécio Cabral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Plácido Corte-Real having to make a save. €uros's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
