Bruno Bombardeiro's late challenge caught a Oporto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruno Bombardeiro helped the player get up and apologised. Bruno Bombardeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Tiago Damásio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Telmo Fidalgo in the 19th minute of the match. If Edgar Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sever Chiliman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Leões de Vila de Rei getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Sever Chiliman hit a great ball. 30 minutes into the match, Sever Chiliman notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Oporto's Cristiano Leite. Cristiano Leite was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 35 minutes, Edgar Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leões de Vila de Rei's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgar Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tiago Damásio came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Oporto's Caio Pinhal. But to his dismay, Caio Pinhal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Caio Pinhal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Damásio having to interfere. In the 43rd match minute, Oporto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Álvares to maneuver through the defense. When Edgar Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Leões de Vila de Rei fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgar Cunha couldn't finish the play. Sever Chiliman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Leite having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sever Chiliman to strike the kick off in the second half. Joaquim Cerqueira hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Sever Chiliman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristiano Leite read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. If Sever Chiliman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leões de Vila de Rei's George Best shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 78th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Cristiano Leite but with some difficulty. Tiago Damásio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caio Pinhal in the 93rd minute of play. Caio Pinhal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Tiago Damásio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
