If Gil Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baltasar Ávila hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Valboense FC's zone, Telmo Marques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Tomé came out of the goal and Telmo Marques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tarcísio Prates charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tarcísio Prates the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Adolfo Tomé made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Osvaldo Calheiros sent off a good shot on target. Osvaldo Calheiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 24 minutes, Telmo Marques managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jacinto FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Telmo Marques was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Jacinto FC booed when Valboense FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomé Trigueiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benedito Ferro hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. When Valboense FC's Gil Mangueira in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Calheiros couldn't finish the play. Osvaldo Calheiros struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Adolfo Tomé didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jacinto FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Telmo Marques managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jacinto FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Telmo Marques was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolfo Tomé breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gil Mangueira made a kick off. In the 50th match minute, Jacinto FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raúl Meireles to maneuver through the defense. If Gil Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 67th minute, Gil Mangueira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Valboense FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Tomé Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Mangueira in the 72nd minute of play. Jacob Moita hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute Gil Mangueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Hélder Velasques fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jacinto FC's protests and gave Hélder Velasques a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Jacinto FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Hélder Velasques hit a great ball. In the 84th minute, Valboense FC's Gil Mangueira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tomé Cardoso. Tomé Cardoso yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. After a rather tough play, Valboense FC's Tarcísio Prates got a free kick in the 87th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Valboense FC's zone, Telmo Marques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Tomé came out of the goal and Telmo Marques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adolfo Tomé took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Calheiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 95 played minutes Valboense FC got a freekick which was hit by Jacob Moita. When the final whistle went the supporters of Valboense FC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Jacinto FC side.
