Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) HИK Hajduk Marmeleira's Joaquim Caires started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind D João I's goalkeeper Renato Teixeira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sebastião Torres charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sebastião Torres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to D João I getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Sebastião Torres hit a great ball. António Gouveia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Renato Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th match minute, D João I was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivo Sarmento to maneuver through the defense. D João I's Renato Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Caires in the 12th minute of play. The supporters of D João I booed when HИK Hajduk Marmeleira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alípio Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 played minutes HИK Hajduk Marmeleira got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Caires. Diego Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martinho Sequeira having to interfere. If Joaquim Caires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the game, Nicolau Cerqueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. HИK Hajduk Marmeleira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave D João I the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in HИK Hajduk Marmeleira fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Penalty! HИK Hajduk Marmeleira:s Martinho Sequeira showed great skill when he stopped Diego Severo:s penalty. Isidoro Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martinho Sequeira having to interfere. Martinho Sequeira had great luck who in the 30thth minute grab hold of the ball when Isidoro Linhares from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joaquim Caires during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. HИK Hajduk Marmeleira's Martinho Sequeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Magalhães in the 37th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 39th minute by Isidoro Linhares got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Diego Severo came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the D João I fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Severo couldn't finish the play. 43 minutes into the match, HИK Hajduk Marmeleira's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Linhares came free, but Martinho Sequeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diego Severo might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martinho Sequeira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diego Severo ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Diego Severo to strike the kick off in the second half. Gabriel Magalhães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Diego Severo struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Martinho Sequeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for D João I. After 61 played minutes D João I got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Granja. After recieving a nice pass, HИK Hajduk Marmeleira's Homero Balsemão tried to score from far away in the 62nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Renato Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Caires, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th match minute, D João I was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Tomé to maneuver through the defense. Renato Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Amorim in the 71st minute of play. In the 76th match minute, D João I was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilídio Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Joaquim Caires's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Renato Teixeira was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. In the 84th minute Gabriel Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martinho Sequeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gabriel Magalhães took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Martinho Sequeira. Martinho Sequeira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Linhares in the 88th minute of play forced HИK Hajduk Marmeleira's goalkeeper Martinho Sequeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 89 played minutes HИK Hajduk Marmeleira got a freekick which was hit by Homero Balsemão. In the 92nd minute, HИK Hajduk Marmeleira's Joaquim Caires dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. HИK Hajduk Marmeleira's Martinho Sequeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Severo in the 96th minute of play. D João I were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
