Ultra Ferrolhos CF's Cássio Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Caires in the 18th minute of play. When Frederico Miguéis fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ultra Ferrolhos CF's protests and gave Frederico Miguéis a yellow card for diving instead. Martinho Sequeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgílio Pinheiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Joaquim Caires took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cássio Prestes. Cássio Prestes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Alípio Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ultra Ferrolhos CF's Cássio Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Homero Balsemão in the 32nd minute of play. Joaquim Caires might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cássio Prestes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joaquim Caires ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, António Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot. HИK Hajduk Marmeleira's supporters rose to their feet, but António Amorim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cássio Prestes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
