When Torcato Regueira was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 17 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, SC Valondrina's Torcato Regueira got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 22nd minute Nuno Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgílio Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sidónio Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to SC Valondrina getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Hermenegildo Garcia hit a great ball. Lourenço Sobral's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Virgílio Medeiros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SC Valondrina's Sidónio Mendonça got a free kick in the 37th minute. Nicolau Lage hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. If Ivo Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the match, SC Valondrina's Sidónio Mendonça sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anselmo Póvoas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 44 minutes into the match, Bertioga City's goalkeeper Anselmo Póvoas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ivo Salgado. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ivo Salgado was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to SC Valondrina getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Severiano Coimbra hit a great ball. Bertioga City's José Teles shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 55th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Virgílio Medeiros but with some difficulty. Lourenço Sobral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SC Valondrina's Virgílio Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lourenço Sobral in the 61st minute of play. Ivo Salgado struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Anselmo Póvoas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Valondrina. Virgílio Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lourenço Sobral in the 66th minute of play. Virgílio Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lourenço Sobral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nuno Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mateus Brito's late challenge caught a SC Valondrina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mateus Brito helped the player get up and apologised. When Lourenço Sobral came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Bertioga City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lourenço Sobral couldn't finish the play. Hermenegildo Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
