Manuel Salvado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roberto Pires in the 9thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Manuel Salvado, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Manuel Salvado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roberto Pires in the 12th minute. Lords's Amado Lamego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Moreira in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Igor Silveira notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Castelo Branco FC's Manuel Salvado. Manuel Salvado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Abel Vargas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Manuel Salvado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Abel Vargas put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Manuel Salvado. If Abel Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roberto Pires could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Manuel Salvado made a huge save. In the 29th match minute, Lords was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horácio Araújo to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice moves Roberto Pires could shoot a difficult shot in the 31st minute, which Manuel Salvado however easily saved by the left post. 31 minutes into the game, Basílio Valentim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Castelo Branco FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lords the free kick. In the 31st match minute, Castelo Branco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basílio Valentim to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute, Basílio Valentim ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amado Lamego was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. If Horácio Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute, Nicolas Gaspar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 43 minutes, Roberto Pires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lords's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roberto Pires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abel Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Igor Silveira made a kick off. Abel Vargas might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manuel Salvado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abel Vargas ran back to his position shaking his head. 56 minutes into the match, Roberto Pires had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manuel Salvado. Castelo Branco FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roberto Pires was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Manuel Salvado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roberto Pires's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Amado Lamego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Cordeiro in the 61st minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Abel Vargas notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Castelo Branco FC's Manuel Salvado. Abel Vargas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manuel Salvado having to make a save. The supporters of Lords booed when Castelo Branco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Lages didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 83 minutes of play Castelo Branco FC's Basílio Valentim was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 84 played minutes Castelo Branco FC got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Valentim. Aldaír Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Inácio Lages fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Castelo Branco FC's protests and gave Inácio Lages a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Igor Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lords's supporters rose to their feet, but Igor Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Salvado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 93rd minute Roberto Pires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Salvado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicolas Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
