Spectators: 7713 (Terracing: 5786, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 153) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Adérito Gentil kicked off to start the match. Cláudio-André Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laurentino Gama in the 7th minute of the match. Vicente Pinhal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Laurentino Gama had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute, Aristides Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Álvaro Cavaco took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Durval Couto. Durval Couto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, Sarge FC's Rúben Branco got a free kick in the 37th minute. The supporters of Pinhal booed when Sarge FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Azenha didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Sarge FC's Álvaro Cavaco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Durval Couto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pinhal's Zarco Vilar quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Rúben Branco, made in the 47th minute of the game. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dário Macena to make the kick off. Pinhal's Durval Couto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermano Coimbra in the 52nd minute of play. Durval Couto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Álvaro Cavaco in the 53rd minute of the match. 55 minutes into the match, Pinhal's goal looked a bit too open when Adérito Gentil came free, but Durval Couto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dário Macena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio-André Taffarel having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 72 minutes, Cláudio-André Taffarel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 76 minutes into the match, Pinhal's goal looked a bit too open when Adérito Gentil came free, but Durval Couto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sarge FC's zone, Vicente Pinhal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio-André Taffarel came out of the goal and Vicente Pinhal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 83 played minutes Sarge FC got a freekick which was hit by Álvaro Cavaco. Dário Macena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio-André Taffarel having to interfere. Carlos Azenha hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Despite being the better team, Sarge FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
