Alexandre Lima took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eurico Figueiras. Palaios FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Lucílio Benevides made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel Matias in the 12th minute of play. Lucílio Benevides showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rúben Miranda, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Alexandre Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. If Rúben Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Noel Matias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucílio Benevides read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. After 21 played minutes Almeidas FC got a freekick which was hit by Eurico Quental. Noel Matias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 29 minutes into the match, José Mendes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eurico Figueiras. Palaios FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Mendes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Rúben Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucílio Benevides having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Damião Pimentel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lucílio Benevides took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Matias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Noel Matias made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Palaios FC's goal looked a bit too open when José Bettencourt came free, but Eurico Figueiras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucílio Benevides didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 82nd minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. In the 97th minute José Bettencourt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eurico Figueiras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Palaios FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Almeidas FC.
