In the 10th minute, Nivaldo Rego made a precise shot to the right of Diogo Costa. Portugal Roots Generation's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. When Baltasar Bezerra fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Portugal Roots Generation's protests and gave Baltasar Bezerra a yellow card for diving instead. Diogo Costa went to the wrong direction when Nivaldo Rego was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. When Almiro Poças fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Diogo Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ventelharia's goalkeeper Claudemiro Palmeira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 45 minutes, Nivaldo Rego managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ventelharia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nivaldo Rego was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 46 minutes of play Portugal Roots Generation's Almiro Poças was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Almiro Poças hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Prince Taylor made a kick off. Ventelharia's Bento Guerra got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Delfim Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Prince Taylor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Portugal Roots Generation's Diogo Costa got control of the ball when Delfim Dantas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Diogo Costa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Delfim Dantas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 65 minute of play. In the 70th minute, Delfim Dantas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Portugal Roots Generation's Diogo Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bento Guerra in the 81st minute of play. Nivaldo Rego's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Diogo Costa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Bento Guerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Valentim Graça came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Ventelharia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valentim Graça couldn't finish the play. After 90 played minutes Portugal Roots Generation got a freekick which was hit by Cândido Trigueiro. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Nivaldo Rego got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
