Spectators: 7650 (Terracing: 5739, Seating: 1759, VIP seats: 152) MTK's Carlos Santiago started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, MTK's Edgar Caires got a free kick in the 4th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurício Belo in the 6th minute of play forced MTK's goalkeeper Vladimiro Lages to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to MTK getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Hermínio Vidal hit a great ball. Artur Câmara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. MTK's Vladimiro Lages played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurício Belo in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th match minute, AKXE MADUREIRA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matias Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th minute, Hélder Brochado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maurício Belo got free with Vladimiro Lages in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcelo Jordão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimiro Lages having to interfere. But to his dismay, Marcelo Jordão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The throw-in from Matias Gonçalves in the 32nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by MTK's Carlos Santiago. Porfírio Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Esteves having to interfere. 42 minutes into the game, Marcelo Jordão recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vladimiro Lages. Marcelo Jordão showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Maurício Belo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Vladimiro Lages made a huge save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maurício Belo was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of AKXE MADUREIRA booed when MTK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Porfírio Marinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the match, MTK's goal looked a bit too open when Maurício Belo came free, but Vladimiro Lages reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurício Belo in the 58th minute of play forced MTK's goalkeeper Vladimiro Lages to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Maurício Belo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vladimiro Lages was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Porfírio Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Mariano Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. MTK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maurício Belo in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vladimiro Lages saved MTK from getting behind. If Henrique Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Maurício Belo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vladimiro Lages was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. In the 80th minute, Durval Durães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rdth minute of the game Maurício Belo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MTK's Vladimiro Lages was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Porfírio Marinho came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the MTK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Porfírio Marinho couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurício Belo in the 90th minute of play forced MTK's goalkeeper Vladimiro Lages to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vladimiro Lages showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurício Belo, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. 95 minutes into the match, MTK's goal looked a bit too open when Maurício Belo came free, but Vladimiro Lages reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The AKXE MADUREIRA fans cheered their team off the field, for while MTK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
