Fintinhas's Pascoal Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Barcelos in the 16th minute of play. After 16 played minutes Fintinhas got a freekick which was hit by António Tomé. After having played for 19 minutes, Rafael Paixão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fintinhas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Paixão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Américo Cesário who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Paolo Oxarra when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Afonso Macedo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pascoal Barros having to make a save. In the 27th minute Rafael Paixão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paolo Oxarra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
