Vítor Eiró didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damião Quental made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Aleixo in the 7th minute of play. Sálvio Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th minute David Manso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damião Quental saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A very good chance. 18 minutes into the match, Montreux's goal looked a bit too open when António Aleixo came free, but Damião Quental reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute, Gusmão Macena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Gusmão Macena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Ermesinde sport club's Bento Vilhena got a free kick in the 30th minute. Damião Quental showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Manso, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Sálvio Sampaio was extremely unlucky when he, in the 38th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Sálvio Sampaio struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Bernard Okropny didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montreux. If Sálvio Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute António Aleixo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damião Quental saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Ermesinde sport club were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gusmão Macena to strike the kick off in the second half. Damião Quental showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Aleixo, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After 60 played minutes, Ermesinde sport club's Ramiro Lobato shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Damião Quental came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ermesinde sport club reached it. Bernard Okropny showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gusmão Macena in the 64th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Ermesinde sport club's Bento Vilhena got a free kick in the 64th minute. The referee gave Montreux a penalty, 71 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alex Mascarenhas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ermesinde sport club's Bernard Okropny. 1-1. Bernard Okropny came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Montreux's Gusmão Macena. But to his dismay, Gusmão Macena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Montreux's Damião Quental played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by António Aleixo in the 78th minute of play. Sálvio Sampaio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gusmão Macena's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernard Okropny read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Montreux's Damião Quental played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by António Aleixo in the 84th minute of play. When Gusmão Macena came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Montreux fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gusmão Macena couldn't finish the play. Bernard Okropny took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sálvio Sampaio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 95 played minutes Ermesinde sport club got a freekick which was hit by Bento Vilhena. In the 98th minute Gusmão Macena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernard Okropny saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Montreux walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
