In the 13thth minute of the game Sálvio Sampaio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fc Barcelona's Bento Baião was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Fc Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Mascarenhas came free, but Bento Baião reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Montreux getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Alonzo Txomin hit a great ball. Montreux's Damião Quental played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antero Lamego in the 19th minute of play. Damião Quental showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lourenço Santiago, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Montreux's goalkeeper Damião Quental had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rúben Liberato. Rúben Seabra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Damião Quental made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gusmão Macena in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bento Baião saved Fc Barcelona from getting behind. When Lourenço Santiago fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc Barcelona's protests and gave Lourenço Santiago a yellow card for diving instead. Bento Baião showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sálvio Sampaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Sálvio Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bento Baião having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Gusmão Macena ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bento Baião was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Damião Quental made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Rúben Seabra sent off a good shot on target. Aprígio Portugal thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Damião Quental, a very annoying self made goal in the 40th minute which led to 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antero Lamego to strike the kick off in the second half. Sálvio Sampaio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Bento Baião when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gusmão Macena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Bento Baião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rúben Seabra in the 56th minute of play forced Montreux's goalkeeper Damião Quental to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bento Baião showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gusmão Macena in the 57th minute of the match. Lourenço Santiago kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Sálvio Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gusmão Macena came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Montreux fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gusmão Macena couldn't finish the play. Sálvio Sampaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Bento Baião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Gusmão Macena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montreux's supporters rose to their feet, but Gusmão Macena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bento Baião breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Damião Quental made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rúben Seabra in the 74th minute of play. Gusmão Macena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antero Lamego charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antero Lamego the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Damião Quental made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rúben Liberato in the 86th minute of play. After having played for 89 minutes, Sálvio Sampaio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montreux's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sálvio Sampaio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Montreux booed when Fc Barcelona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antero Lamego didn't get a good kick on the ball. 97 minutes into the match, Fc Barcelona's goalkeeper Bento Baião had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sálvio Sampaio.
