An unexpectedly hard shot by Rúben Franco in the 12th minute of play forced Montreux's goalkeeper Damião Quental to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Estrela★Leonino OFF's goalkeeper Hermenegildo Sobral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Sálvio Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sálvio Sampaio in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hermenegildo Sobral saved Estrela★Leonino OFF from getting behind. In the 21stth minute of the game Sálvio Sampaio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estrela★Leonino OFF's Hermenegildo Sobral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Sálvio Sampaio came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Montreux fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sálvio Sampaio couldn't finish the play. Laurentino Linhares was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 29 minutes into the match. Hermenegildo Sobral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alex Mascarenhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gusmão Macena came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Montreux fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gusmão Macena couldn't finish the play. Damião Quental made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Rúben Franco sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gusmão Macena was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Gusmão Macena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Estrela★Leonino OFF's goalkeeper Hermenegildo Sobral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 54 minutes, Alonzo Txomin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montreux and the Estrela★Leonino OFF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 77th minute, Adalberto Marques ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Damião Quental was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Gusmão Macena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hermenegildo Sobral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gusmão Macena, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Estrela★Leonino OFF's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Gusmão Macena 91 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-2. Montreux played a much better game than Estrela★Leonino OFF and deserved their victory. The Estrela★Leonino OFF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
