Eliseu Franco came out of the goal and Artur Quintanilha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34th minute, Alexandre Ventura made a precise shot to the right of Eliseu Franco. Metropolis 1928 CC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artur Quintanilha in the 40th minute of play forced Metropolis 1928 CC's goalkeeper Eliseu Franco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Higino Sanches hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute of the match Luís Lameirinhas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eliseu Franco skillfully saved the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Artur Quintanilha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Metropolis 1928 CC's Eliseu Franco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aparício Portela in the 63rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Metropolis 1928 CC's Egídio Vilhena got a free kick in the 66th minute. Alfredo Águas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Metropolis 1928 CC's Eliseu Franco got control of the ball when Artur Quintanilha tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 74 minutes, Higino Sanches mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Metropolis 1928 CC and the FC Portuense players grew even worse after the yellow card. Artur Quintanilha showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. The attack was good, but when Máximo Avelar in the 89th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Pedro Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Álvaro Infante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eliseu Franco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Máximo Avelar in the 93rd minute of the match. FC Portuense's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
