Aristides Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacob Tavares having to interfere. The supporters of Benfica de Belas booed when Vareiros FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Lucena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jesualdo Garcez was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 23rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Jesualdo Garcez sped through Vareiros FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Beniamin Kaznocha. In the 46th minute, Fabiano Rebocho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teófilo Assunção made a kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabiano Rebocho couldn't finish the play. After 70 minutes, Jesualdo Garcez made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Vareiros FC's Beniamin Kaznocha tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jesualdo Garcez got free with Beniamin Kaznocha in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Beniamin Kaznocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jesualdo Garcez in the 95th minute of the match. When the match was over Benfica de Belas could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vareiros FC throughout the match.
