Spectators: 7797 (Terracing: 5849, Seating: 1793, VIP seats: 155) Lions FC's Isac Azevedo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Paulino Eiró came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the SC Fuinhas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulino Eiró couldn't finish the play. Rafael Eanes kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Miguel Trigueiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gervásio Vieira went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Danilo Guterres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jerardo Zamudio was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Miguel Trigueiro was out of position in the 14 minute of play, and Xavier Ribas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Xavier Ribas really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Paulino Eiró managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Fuinhas's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulino Eiró was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerardo Zamudio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rui Conde hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the match, Lions FC's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Vargas came free, but Jerardo Zamudio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SC Fuinhas's Miguel Trigueiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xavier Ribas in the 26th minute of play. SC Fuinhas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lions FC the free kick. Esteban Raebert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jerardo Zamudio came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Fuinhas's Paulino Eiró. But to his dismay, Paulino Eiró quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 45 minutes into the match, SC Fuinhas's goalkeeper Miguel Trigueiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gervásio Vieira. Miguel Trigueiro came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Lions FC's Gervásio Vieira. But to his dismay, Gervásio Vieira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Danilo Guterres to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Gusmão Portela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd minute Gervásio Vieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Trigueiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the SC Fuinhas defense, Isac Azevedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Miguel Trigueiro. The SC Fuinhas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miguel Trigueiro should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Danilo Guterres managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Fuinhas's supporters rose to their feet, but Danilo Guterres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerardo Zamudio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Miguel Trigueiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xavier Ribas, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 71 minutes into the game, Isac Azevedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Miguel Trigueiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Gervásio Vieira fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lions FC's protests and gave Gervásio Vieira a yellow card for diving instead. Paulino Eirós short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Jerardo Zamudio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jerardo Zamudio made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Paulino Eiró sent off a good shot on target. 6-1 became the score in the 79th minute when Isac Azevedo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 84 minutes into the match, SC Fuinhas's goal looked a bit too open when Gervásio Vieira came free, but Miguel Trigueiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xavier Ribas might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miguel Trigueiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xavier Ribas ran back to his position shaking his head. 86 minutes into the match, SC Fuinhas's goal looked a bit too open when Isac Azevedo came free, but Miguel Trigueiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute, Danilo Guterres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Fuinhas's Miguel Trigueiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isac Azevedo in the 87th minute of play. Miguel Trigueiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isac Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute, Gervásio Vieira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lions FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-1. 98 minutes into the game, Lions FC's Xavier Ribas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Miguel Trigueiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-1. Lions FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
