With a left leg Belchior Sá saved Mal Lavado SC from getting behind. 9 minutes into the match, Mal Lavado SC's goal looked a bit too open when Romão Quinaz came free, but Belchior Sá reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rogério Gusmão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Gregório Bentes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anselmo Tristão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregório Bentes having to interfere. Mauro Mourão hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Romão Quinaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Belchior Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romão Quinaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After a rather tough play, GD Chaves's Sálvio Portela got a free kick in the 21st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Romão Quinaz in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Belchior Sá prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th match minute, Mal Lavado SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tobias Valverde to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 30 minutes, Romão Quinaz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GD Chaves's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romão Quinaz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Belchior Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Israel Caeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute of the match Jerónimo Palha shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Belchior Sá showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 35 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for GD Chaves! 42 minutes into the game, Pedro Barroso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Belchior Sá was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pedro Barroso took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Belchior Sá. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Barroso made a kick off. Romão Quinaz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Belchior Sá made a huge save. 59 minutes into the match, Mal Lavado SC's goal looked a bit too open when Romão Quinaz came free, but Belchior Sá reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Romão Quinaz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Belchior Sá was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After 77 played minutes, Mal Lavado SC's Bruno Antas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gregório Bentes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mal Lavado SC reached it. Romão Quinaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rogério Gusmão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Mal Lavado SC booed when GD Chaves was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Israel Caeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Belchior Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Barroso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romão Quinaz might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Belchior Sá. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Romão Quinaz ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpected shot in the 98th minute by Pedro Barroso got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. GD Chaves played a much better game than Mal Lavado SC and deserved their victory. The Mal Lavado SC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
